7 Tips to Prepare for Success and Satisfaction

“If you don’t prepare, you won’t succeed.” Everybody Hates Chris

Being a success takes hard work, but you can do it!

These tips are for people who value self improvement and are committed to growth and development. So...for all of you go-getters who are on your next new venture, apply these tips and it will make the journey a little less rocky.

1. Do your research.

Whatever it is that you want to do or be, you must understand thoroughly. It is worth the effort to take the time to learn and perfect your craft.

2. Set up your support system.

It is virtually impossible to be successful without other people. Let’s face it. We need people. It’s important to network with others that have similar passions and develop a group of people who will support you. Who knows, you may even become a part of their support system too?

3. Develop a plan.

How are you going to go somewhere when you don’t know where you’re going? Whether informal or formal, you must envision your future. You must see it when no one else does. It may be helpful to make a collage of places you want to go, people you want to meet, and symbols of the things that you want in life.

4. Be aware of the importance of balance.

Success is minimal compared to satisfaction. The person who is happy with little is more admirable than the person who is miserable with a lot. You cannot focus all of your energy on success because you won’t have room for other important areas of your life. Make sure you have time for all of the things that are important to you. If you are unsure of what’s important to you, imagine the images that would run through your mind before you die. For me that would be my husband, children, extended family, and people that I want to help.

5. Put forth a genuine effort.

Many times during the preparation faze, people are too relaxed. You shouldn’t be so uptight that you become stressed, but you must take preparation for your future seriously. Preparation will lead you to your destiny, so work hard.

6. Don’t procrastinate.

People are waiting on what you have to offer, so you must not blow it off. Just because you are not where you want to be does not mean that you are not on a schedule. You never know when the golden opportunity will present itself. Therefore, you must be on schedule.

7. Clarify what you want.

I’ve mentioned this principle before. You must know what you want. If you know what you want, it is bound to occur. It’s just a matter of time. Remember that you cannot complain about what you don’t have when you don’t know what you want. Sometimes you have an idea of what you want, but you should be able to specifically say what it is that you want from life. For instance, let’s say you want a house. What does the house look like? How much does it cost? Where is it located? Even if you don’t know how it could happen, don’t be afraid to dream. I have personal testimonies that this principle works. Know what you want!

I guess watching TV is useful after all. I got all of this inspiration from watching Everybody Hates Chris! In conclusion, success comes from opportunity and preparation.” (Everybody Hates Chris) Your opportunity is waiting for you, but you must be ready for it. I would hate for you to miss your time to shine because you weren’t prepared. Prepare yourself to be the best!

7 Ways to Stay Focused

The end of the year is drawing near. If you're like me, you have high expectations for the new year. You are evaluating your goals and setting new ones. Some of you may even have an action plan for 2010. If you don't have a plan, get one. If you don't have motivation, get motivated. Some of you may say if I could, I would. However, you are the only one who can motivate you. All someone on the outside does for you is lead you to your own internal motivation. You have got to believe in yourself more than anyone does. So the more that you believe in yourself, the further you will be able to go. So as we go into the year of 2010, lets think about how we are going to finish what we've started. Let's think about how we are going to do things differently than we have before.

The only way that you are going to be able to move further than you have before is if you stay focused. Let's look at some ways that you can stay focused so that you can not only finish but you will perfect what you have started.

1. Believe in yourself.
The number one way to help you stay focused is knowing that regardless of your circumstances, you will make it. You cannot let anyone else tell you what you should be doing and how you should do it. When you find out what your purpose is, don't let anyone distract you by giving you unwanted advice.

2. Be patient with yourself and your circumstances.
If you've been listening to what I have been saying throughout my blogs, you know that I believe in hard work and perseverance. Therefore, you must take your time and know and believe that things will change in due time. It may be tomorrow, the next day, or the next year. You owe it to yourself to keep trying because you never know when your time will come.

3. Evaluate your agenda.
As you think about your goals, you must always think about your hidden agenda. Why do you want to do what you want to do? If you know why you want to do it, then you will not allow distractions get the best of you.

4. Maintain your support system.
Without a support system, you will not be able to get far in life. Believe it or not, we all need each other. If you have people around you that know what your goals are, they will hold you accountable. The very fact that you know that they know should encourage you to do more with yourself. People are expecting more from you, and it's time that you give them what they are asking for.

5. Maintain balance.
Without the proper balance, you will eventually fall on your face. You must always be aware of what's important in life. If that means that you need to make a list of the seven most important things in your life do it. Doing this will help you to allot the proper amount of time to each area.

6. Beat discouragement before it beats you.
Discouragement will come. You will ask yourself, "Why am I doing this anyway?" You'll say, "What's the point of all of this?" Okay, let's hit discouragement in the mouth before it gets to you. Tell discouragement that you have something to offer the world. Tell discouragement when he comes that the point is that you can't leave this planet without doing your part.

7. Keep it moving.
With time, movement develops a momentum. If you are already moving, you don't want to stop because it will take you longer to get your momentum back up again. Consistent progress is encouraging and helps you stay focused.

So as we go into the year of 2010, lets stay focused. If you want to hear more about one of the ways to stay focused, leave a comment and I will make a mental note. Thanks for reading.

More Is Not Better

The end of the year is near. Some people are excited  about 2010 and others are a little depressed. Many of us that are go-getters get discouraged when we don't reach our goals when we think we will. We try the best that we can and we expect to get results. If you're like me, you expect to get results fast. However, lasting success does not come over night.

If you don't believe me, research it. Find out about the history of the person you admire most. For instance, my favorite English professor told me that he was painting houses when he graduated undergraduate school. I was shocked. I just assumed that he went the traditional route and he was always on a clear path of success. My point is don't assume that people you admire had an overnight success. Success takes hard work.

Furthermore, lasting successs takes work and patience. You must be patient with yourself to achieve the kind of success that you want. You want to be able to enjoy your life when you become more successful. If you suddenly become an over night success, will you be able to handle it?

It's like the saying, "More money, more problems." With great gain, comes a greater responsibility. Remember that on your way up to the top. If you change your perspective, you will begin to value your baby steps. You will begin to appreciate the time that you are spending preparing for your magnificent future.

So during this holiday season, treasure where you have been in 2009. Many of us have had our share of struggles this year, but remember that each mistake has contributed to your growth. As long as you are doing your best, you are right on schedule. You might not know how all of the pieces fit together just yet, but eventually you will have a beautiful picture of your destiny.

3 Tips to Find Balance

When you begin to make progress toward your goals, the excitement runs all through your body. You can't stop thinking. You know that your moment has arrived and it is just a matter of time before you get to your destination. How exciting!

This is all good but this experience requires balance. It's already been established that your destiny is near and it's only a matter of time. Therefore, there is no need to rush anything. Just relax and take it easy.

If you are having trouble doing that, note these tips.

1. Get organized.
Create a schedule and stick to it. There is no need of planning if you don't follow through with the plan.

2. Prioritize
If necessary, ask yourself several times a day. How important is it that I do ____________ today?

3. Set Limits
Even though being successful is exciting, you have to know when to stop. When you are working on a project remember to stick to your schedule. If you have to ask yourself, "Will it change anything if I finish this today?" Usually the answer is no.

I have been personally working through this, so leave a comment if you would like me to elaborate on these tips. We can work through this together.

A part of being satisfied is maintaining balance. Remember our goal is Success and Satisfaction, not one without the other. Without balance, you will never be satisfied.

Are You Ready for Change?

You have been dreaming big dreams and expanding your horizons. You have been encouraged and you want more for your life. You have been researching and putting the pieces together, and now you're amazed at how big your dream is. Wow...could this really be?

Yes, it's true. There is more inside of you, and it is waiting to come out. Do you believe it? Do you really think you could be that person in your dreams? Could it be that you are transforming right before your very own eyes? Look in the mirror, you might look a little different. When you change on the inside, you change on the outside. When you change the way you think, you change the way you look. Try it and see.

For instance, I developed self confidence this year. I have learned to accept who I am and love it! As a result, people that I haven't seen for a while give me compliments saying things like, "You look like a grown woman now." People could see the maturity in the way that I carry myself. I was puzzled at first because I haven't dramatically changed physically. But the moral to the story is that what's inside of you illuminates on the outside of you.

I know you want to walk in your destiny. I know you want more for yourself. I know you want to be better than who you are today. The question is, "Are you ready for change?" Are you ready to stop being the person that puts off until tomorrow what you could do today? Are you ready to stop saying what you are going to do, and do what you need to do? Are you ready to drop those old habits and develop new ones?

It's all up to you. Even though I love coaching people, I don't think that a coach can change you. Your biggest influence is you. You are the one who will determine what you will and will not do. You will decide whether you will reach your goal or not. You will decide if you are successful or not.

After it's all said and half way done, are you ready for change? Finish what you started and make a vow to yourself that you will change at this very moment.

Leave a comment if you would like to make a public vow.

3 Good Reasons to Know What You Want

Many times we think we know what we want but when the opportunity presents itself we freeze up. If you want to be successful, you have to know what success means to you. Instead of complaining, do something about it. Meditate on these reasons to know what you want, and I guarantee you that what you want will come to you. So get ready for it.

1. You can't measure your success without a goal.
You must always set goals in order to track your progress. How can you know how far you've come if you don't know where you started from?

2. You can't reach out for help, if you don't know what you need help with.
Living a productive life that offers the world something requires a team. You will not be able to reach out to people to help you be a better person if you don't know who you want to become.

3. You can't be dissatisfied with your life, if you never believed in what you can become.
Don't be one of those people who are disappointed in themselves for no apparent reasons. They know they could do more, but if you ask them exactly what they couldn't tell you. Believe in yourself first before you expect others to follow suit.

If you want to hear more reasons to know what you want, leave a comment. I can tell you some stories about how this concept has changed my life. Let me know if you want more details.

Learn to Relax

It's a shame not to know how to relax. Do you work too hard? I know you are driven, but do you know how to kick back and take a moment to relax? With everything going on in your life, are you able to take a moment to not think about anything? Just imagine yourself sitting beside flowing water. What is on your mind? Are you still trying to solve problems? It's okay to just be sometimes. You don't have to spend every waking moment thinking. Take a moment to relax.
Let's face it, you would not want to die working. You want to spend the last moments of your life enjoying yourself which means doing whatever is important to you. In other words, all of those things that you feel like you have to do but don't want to do can be put on a shelf sometimes. This is not to say that you should not be responsible. However, you can be so concerned about being responsible that you forget to have fun.

You don't want to waste your last breath sighing because you're sooo tired.

As you strive to reach perfection, remember to take a moment to relax. As you climb the ladder of success remember to breathe once in a while. The world will not stop spinning because you took a moment for yourself.

During this holiday season, remember that satisfaction is more important than reaching the highest heights. Remember that you are already a success, and all you are doing is working toward becoming more successful. The moment that you decide to become successful, you are successful. Stop being so hard on yourself. Stop worrying about how you could've have done things differently and enjoy your life. When it's all said and done, life is too short.

When are you are going to learn to relax?
(If you would like to hear more about learning to relax, leave comment.)

Let it Happen

How is it that after you've done everything that there is to do, you still think you should do more? You are trying the best that you can, but you still feel like you should try harder. You have done everything there is that you know to do, but you're still looking for more solutions. You are a go-getter and you aim for the highest heights.

Sometimes working too hard is the result of inpatience. I am naturally inpatient with myself, so I have had to recognize it when I see it. When you work too hard, you get nowhere fast. You will look around and see that you are no further than if you had worked a little less. If you find yourself working too hard, ask yourself why. Are you doing it because you have the time? Are you taking away time from family to work on something that could wait? Are you able to stop working after a reasonable amount of time?

Do you realize that it doesn't matter how much more you do because you are already a success? Change your perspective. There is more in you, but that doesn't mean that you have to do more. You have to pace yourself to make sure you finish the race. Don't wear yourself thin by trying to make something happen. Remember to save some of you for the people that love you and need you.

Don't try to make it happen, let it happen. Success is the inevitable, so just believe it. If you really believe that you will reach your destination, then you won't have to try so hard. You will get there in due time and at the right season.

Everyone will have their time to shine. All you have to do is wait for your moment. If you keep yourself overwhelmingly busy, you might miss your opportunity. You'll be so busy that you won't look up and see that the moment that you've been waiting for is right in front of you. Just let it happen.

7 Principles of Lasting Satisfaction

Satisfaction is the key to success. Have you ever wondered why the rich and famous struggle so much? It's because they are not satisfied. All of the money in the world cannot offer satisfaction. I know what you're thinking...it does help. However, the happiness that money provides will not satisfy your deepest desires. Generally, your deepest desires are not having the finer things in life. Your deepest desires consist of living a life of purpose, and sharing what you have to offer with the people you love. If you consider these principles of lasting satisfaction, you are guaranteed success. You do not have to follow these principles in a particular order. The best way to apply these principles are in combination.

  1. Do your best-the most satisfying part of doing your best is knowing that there is nothing else left for you to do. After you've done all that you can do you must leave the rest to God. In God we trust...

  2. Know what you want-is is impossible to be satisfied with your life, if you don't know what you want out of life. Don't be one of those people who is always complaining, but unwilling to identify what's wrong.

  3. Understand your purpose-when you find your purpose, you will have direction. Direction brings satisfaction because you are not wasting your time on meaningless things. You will wake up each day with an agenda to do your part in making the world a better place.

  4. Place a high value on family and friends- people who care about you offer the ultimate satisfaction because loving is living. Without a sense of love and acceptance, your heart grows empty and cold. In essense, you are a dead man walking.

  5. Give back-you can recreate or expand your greatness by helping someone become just as great if not greater than you. It is refreshing to give what you have to offer and satisfying to know that you are helping someone become better than they were before.

  6. Set goals-no matter how far you come, REACH for more. We have an innate need for a sense of accomplishment. Achieving goals offer a sense of satisfaction because it gives you a sense of accomplishment.

  7. Learn how to accept your imperfections-regardless of how hard you try, you will never be perfect. Give yourself a break and learn the serenity prayer.

Note:Sometimes it helps to make a list of the things that you can change and the things that you have no control over.

As you begin to apply these principles, please understand that things will not change over night. However, as your understanding of these principles develop, your life will change. You will arrive at the destination of success, satisfied.

I will expand upon these ideas in upcoming postings. If you would like more details on a topic discussed, please leave a comment.

The Road to Success

The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, and caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs; but if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perserverance, insurance called Faith, and a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success. (Anonymous)

Wouldn't it be so nice if we could just get on a highway, and take the exit to success? I used to wish I knew where the road to success was going to take me. I used to get so frustrated because I didn't know if I was going the right way. You know how when you get lost in a neighborhood that you are familiar with; and you are so frustrated because you can't believe you just got lost in your own city. In the past, I felt that way about life. I felt like I could deal with things so much easier if I just knew where I was going next. If I just knew what the next step was going to be, everything would be so much easier.

This quote helped me make sense of it all. Experience has taught me that things are just not that easy. The road to success is not straight so you will have some failures. At times, you will be confused, just don't stay that way. Friends will come and go. You will have haters and backstabbers. Sometimes your family may cause you to yield and slow down. Your job might seem as if it holds you back from your dream and keeps you stagnant. If you are experiencing these things, you are on the right path. All of these things are normal, so keep on moving forward.

When you feel like you're marching in place, your determination will get you moving again. Perseverance will get you past the tough spots. If you have a really bad accident that you can't seem to recover from, remember that you have insurance called Faith. All you have to do is believe that one day, you will take the exit to Success. If you believe in God, trust Him and He will get you there. If you have been driving, and you keep sliding off the road scoot over. You don't know everything. Let your creator help you out a little. He will make sure you get to your final destination.

Struggle for Success

"If you've never failed, you've never lived." I heard that by listening to a you tube video today and I had an epiphany.

My failures make me who I am. My failures give me the drive to strive for more. My failures will eventually make me great. I am the type of person, who gets very upset when I make a mistake. Well, not so much anymore. Now, I just tell myself to get over myself. On the other hand, this video motivated me to keep trying to succeed. This is not to say that I was ever planning on giving up.

Have you ever felt like you just want to stop struggling? As Oprah said in the Color Purple, "I've had to fight all of my life..." At some point, I accepted it as the norm. I never realized that struggling will make you stronger. My ongoing struggles have allowed me to come to a place of success and satisfaction. While struggle is not the key to success, it has been an avenue for contentment for me. I know what it means to want and not have. I understand what it means to grieve for mistakes that have caused life changes. I have experienced watching a dream die and be resuscitated back to life. Through everything, I know that if I had never struggled, I would have never lived.

I want to hear about your struggles as I share some of my own. This blog is not only to inspire but to share. Sharing with the right motive is therapeutic and will offer emotional support throughout your journey to success.

How to Overcome Your Struggle

1. Identify and clarify your issues. If you have multiple issues, choose the issue that is most important.

2. Analyze your problem. Ask yourself some tough questions. -When did you start having this problem? How have you contributed to your problem? What can you do at this moment to minimize your issue? Who can help you with your problem? etc.

3. Develop a plan. Write down your plan and revisit it to check your progress.

4. Implement the plan.

5. Eliminate any negative influences, and stay focused.

6. Find support in a way that is suitable to you.

7. Make revisions to your plan. Ask yourself: Is what I'm doing working? What can I do to make it better?

8. Pray. Some would advise you to do this first. However, I believe that you must take some responsibility by attempting to help yourself and God will do the rest. Regardless of when you pray, pray your way through it. You may need to go through this process several times before you are successful.

The order of this process may be different for you depending on personality, values, and lifestyle. As you go through this process with various issues, remember that success is at the end of your struggle.

Good Intentions

The best intentions do not produce the best results. You will never be satisfied with your life, if you don't set goals. It's okay to dream and think big. However, at some point, you have to start taking action. Usually you cannot freestyle life and get somewhere. It's fun to be daring and adventurous. In fact, sometimes you have to let your hair down and feel the summer breeze. But, imagine this: What if you stood in the middle of a beach watching the waves in the ocean and letting your hair blow in the wind for eternity? I know, I know, you're saying, "Are you serious?" That's the precise reaction that I was looking for because that's ridiculous. Let's get real and start setting some realistic goals.

This subject is really personal for me because I struggle with staying consistent with some of my goals. For instance, my ongoing struggle with weight loss is insane. I'm always talking about how I'm going to reach my goal by the age of thirty, but time is winding up. It's getting to the point where I'm tired of hearing myself talk about it, so thanks for listening. My point is that I'm going to have to shut up or get something done. I don't want to keep disappointing myself because no one really cares about it as much as I do.

I know it sounds harsh, but no one really cares about your life as much as you do. I mean most of the time when we talk to someone people aren't really listening. Generally, humans listen with approximately a 25% comprehension rate, which translates into no one knows what you're talking about. Do you even know what you're talking about? If you do, then do something with what you know.

Do you know someone who always says that they will do something and they never do? You hear them talking about all of the things that they plan on doing, but they never follow through with it. It gets to the point that you don't even engage them in a conversation. You just pretend as if you are listening. Okay, you can be honest. It goes in one ear and out of the other. If you can't relate to this, you just might be the person that everyone thinks is a joke.

I don't mean to be too direct, but it is what it is. If you don't accomplish your goals in a reasonable amount of time, you are a joke. In other words, you're full of it. For some of you, that's a hard pill to swallow, while others are still in denial. You might want to evaluate all of the things that you have been trying to do for years and analyze why you haven't finished it yet.

We're in this together, so I'll analyze myself. My weight issue has been placed on the back burner because I really don't think that it is that important. To be honest with myself, it is not a priority when it should be. If I don't make my health a priority, then I won't make the sacrifices necessary to reach my goal. What I'm going to do first is set some short term attainable goals. When I reach my short term goal, I'll tell you more about my intermediate goals. My long-term goal is to maintain a healthy weight, but I'm going to take it one step at a time. For more information on goal setting, Click Here!. Otherwise, let's set some goals and get beyond good intentions so that we can be a success together. Feel free to share your goals with others if you're really serious. Keep it to yourself if you just have good intentions.

What Are You Afraid Of?

Boo! Are you scared? I didn't think so, but it's the Halloween holiday, so I couldn't resist. I must say I hate Halloween and I hate being afraid. I live by the saying, "I ain't never scared." Even though I say that, sometimes I've had to re-evaluate my fears. Sometimes I feel like I am at the brink of success. You know that place, where if you take one more step, it could be your time to shine. I'm sure I'm not the only person that's been at the place before. So, if you're stuck at the place and too afraid to move, you’ll never know until you try. You are too close to living the life of your dreams. Why stay a step away from your destiny any longer?

Some of you have great excuses. You’ve tried and failed, so now you’re discouraged. Well, how long are you going to sulk in misery? If fear of failure is what is stopping you, then you’ll be in the same spot forever. When are you going to start living? Life is a plethora of successes and failures. Don’t let failure be your excuse. It happens to the best of us; just don’t let it get the best of you.

Your fear of failure is getting worried about what people think. People will talk about you whether you are successful or not. So, if they are going to talk anyway, let it be about your next move toward greatness. They may not know where you are going, but who cares. Why not be an example of how to preserve rather than how to quit.

If you’re still afraid, you may need to sort your some of your emotions. You may have some areas within that outward motivation cannot touch. There may have been some incidents in your life that you are still recovering from. If that’s the case, make sure you get some help. Click Here! Don’t just stay in that painful position alone. Every day that you sit in agony over a past failure, it gets harder to regain your inner strength. For instance, if you are trying to lose weight and you stop your routine it is so hard to start again. Yo-yo dieters I’m sure you can relate.

You have to determine how much you want it. Do you really want the best for yourself? If you love yourself, you will be able to conquer your fears. You will do what is best for you. You will learn and apply what it takes to make it. If you are not doing anything, do something. If you are doing something, do more.

Maximize Your Potential

If you could have any future that you could dream up, what would it be? As you answer that question, visualize what you really want, and not what you think may be possible. Without a vision, it's impossible to reach your goals. If you are not taking the time to maximize your dream, you will never realize your potential. Your potential is not necessarily who you are, but who you are capable of becoming. If you are not living your life with an intent to reach your destiny, you are not living. In essence, you are dead because a man without a dream is merely existing, but not truly alive.

If you have hope for your future, you are still breathing. Focusing on your present situation is often a distraction. It is easy to get caught up in ideas about how your life could be better. Often times, you give too much energy on negative aspects of your progress. You think about how much further you thought you would be. You're spending way too much time dwelling on mistakes that you have made that you can do nothing about. The moral to the story is that your attention should not be focused on your present circumstance. Better yet, your mind should be meditating on where you are going.

There are no limits on where you are going unless you place them there. Many people might try to tell you that you can't do it; but it's not over until you say it's over. On the other hand, it doesn't start until you say, "Go!" If you haven't been dreaming of something greater, start today. If you have been dreaming, take a step toward it today. If you are living your dream, help someone else realize their dream. There is always something that you can do to expand your dream and maximize your potential.

Consistent Progress

Without progress, you will never reach your ultimate destination. The path to your destiny may appear long and steep, but you have to move forward. If you don't take a step each day you'll never get there. Don't let your dreams of your future intimidate you. You will get there in due time, but not necessarily tomorrow. Tomorrow you need to take a step toward your goal. Those steps will add up to progress. If you take one step, you may not see results immediately. However, over a period of time, you are guaranteed to see a change.

Some of you are having trouble with making progress because you want to see results without the effort. It's time for a reality check. Unfortunately, no one can get off of the couch for you. You have to sit up, get up, and then walk toward whatever it is that you need to do. I am a firm believer in external motivation, but internal motivation is much more powerful. Everyone can tell you what you need to do, but it will not do any good until you talk yourself into making a positive change. If you could get results by sitting in the same spot doing nothing, then you would have reached your goal at least five times by now.

All you can do is try your best. If you are not putting your best foot forward, it is not too late to start. Each day is a new beginning, so start at the brink of sunrise. Tell yourself what you could do better and do it. It doesn't have to be a complicated process. It doesn't have to be hard. Stop dwelling on how hard it is, and focus on what is attainable. You know what you can't do, so find out what you can do. As you begin to look at what you can do, take the steps to do it, then you will eventually see progress. Now imagine, if you could practice being your best on a consistent basis. Just imagine how far you would be be on your journey to success if you are making consistent progress.

What's Stopping You?

You have got to stop talking about what you are going to do, and get it done. Research and planning are both very wise things to do, but they need to be done in balance. Some of you are not even doing that, you’re just talking. You’re saying things like, “One of these days, I’m going to…” When you should be saying things like, “Today, I’m going to…” Notice that I didn’t say tomorrow, I said today. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you could have done today. Anytime, you do that you’re setting yourself up for failure. That’s just like me, when I’m always starting a diet next week. I say to myself that starting something at the beginning of the week makes it a fresh start. Now, I know and you know that I’m lying to myself. I’m wasting my time even thinking about meeting weight loss goals because if I’m not serious enough to do something about today, then I don’t have my mind made up.

How much progress are you going to make if you are just blowing out smoke? Some of you talk a good talk. I mean, you can talk circles around the best of them. You can make anything sound good and you know you have skills to seal the deal. The thing is that when you look at how much you have said versus how much you have done, you are coming up short. You can be your own judge of what is true and false. When you say things that you are going to do, no one really cares if you do it or if you don’t. You’re not doing anything but lying to yourself. Furthermore, you’re wasting your breath and your time. Life is too short for meaningless conversations. So, like the saying goes, “If you’re going to talk about it, be about it.”

Now, some of you don’t think this applies to you. You’re sitting there thinking about that person that gets on your last nerve talking about what they are going to do and they never do anything. If this is you, let’s point the finger back at you. You might be one of those people who don’t say much about what they are going to do, you just do it. Okay, this is good and fine. This is actually great, but what about those things that you haven’t done. You’ve thought about it, but that’s as far as it goes. The thought has not turned into an action yet. When this happens to the go-getter, it’s time to take a look inside.

Are you afraid? Are you overwhelmed? Do you lack understanding? So, you want to be a millionaire and everyone else thinks it's a long shot. You can't let "haters," who are people that always have something negative to say, stop you from giving it all that you have. Learn about how others have accomplished your same goal. Click Here! The best thing to do is to keep your dreams to yourself if you think that people will discourage you. I want to be a millionaire too, so it's okay. I don't usually tell many people that, but I think I can trust you.

So now, back to the subject matter at hand, what is it that’s stopping you from moving forward? When you identify your barrier, you can begin to overcome it and progress toward greatness. Sometimes we’re too afraid to explore our fears. I myself was afraid of fear itself. My spiritual beliefs have taught me that God does not give the spirit of fear; so therefore, I didn’t want to admit when I was afraid of anything. I was in denial. I was afraid of failure and overwhelmed at the fact that I needed so much information that I didn’t know where to start. A word of wisdom is that starting somewhere is better than starting nowhere at all.

If you have been stagnant or you are not where you would like to be, it’s not too late to get moving. Start at this very moment. There is always something that you can do moment by moment to work toward your goals. For instance, if you are addicted to nicotine, you can start by resisting the next urge you have to smoke. Instead of smoking, replace it with doing something else. (That works for food too). No matter how minimal it may seem, a little progress is better than no progress at all. You are the only one that can stop you. You’re unstoppable, so what’s stopping you?!

Instant Success

Don't you wish you could just tap the key to success? What if you had the key on you computer? Wouldn't life be so much easier? Well, sorry to break it to you. The key doesn't exist. It doesn’t matter how smart you are, or how hard you work. Diligence is vital and necessary; but it won’t necessarily make it happen faster. Life is not easy, and success is definitely not a piece of cake. Always remember that success is worth the trouble. You will never regret being the best that you can be. The blood, tears and sweat will be worth it. Don’t let anyone let you settle for what is easier instead of what is better. I know you don’t want less, so why settle for less. You are more than the dirt that is beneath you. So why not rise above the dirt and reach for the stars? When you come close to one, you will find that you are the star. There is a bright, shining light that is on the inside of you. Let your light shine and share it with the world.

If you have been given a glimpse of your future, then you don’t have any excuse but yourself. You are the only one who can tell yourself not to do something. Like the saying goes, you are your own worst enemy. Stop fighting yourself and making life harder than it is. If you don't know what to do, read about those who have done it before you. (Read a success story)Regardless, you are always going to be unsettled until you do something more with your life. If you are doing more for yourself, then you won’t be able to stop until you reach your destiny. When you get to the top, don’t forget to go back down to the bottom and lend a helping hand.

Always remember that if you make steady progress, you will arrive. There will come a time in which you reach the top of the mountain and you take a deep breath. Remember that eagles were once babies and they couldn’t fly. The fact that they couldn’t fly yet, didn’t change their identity. An eagle is destined to soar far above mountains. You are destined to be above and not beneath. As you rise to higher heights, you will not trade the process because it is what has made you who you have become.

There will be times on your journey to success that you will struggle. On your way up the mountain, you may fall and get a scratch or two. Sadly enough, you may end up with scars that heal. Eventually, you come to a place where you have come too far to turn back. You have no choice but to move forward. Your purpose is greater than any failure along the way. The process to success is greater than your growing pains. Instant success is not reality, but greatness is your destiny.

Everyone needs a little help along the way. If you need a little more than just motivational words, read about what some other experts have to say.

Believe in Yourself

What does it take? There is nothing that you can do to make people realize your full potential if you haven't realized it for yourself. If you don't believe that you can do it then how do you expect others to believe in you. You must be your first cheerleader, so get started. Tell yourself, "I can do whatever I set my mind to do." Some people feel silly saying things aloud but you must begin to talk to yourself. After you say something so many times, you have no choice but to take action. What you think you will say, and what you say you will do. I'm not sure where I heard that saying, but it is true. If you have been thinking, "I can't do this," then you can't. On the other hand, if you have been thinking, " I will do this," then you will. It is really that simple.

For those of you that think it is not, it's because you are impatient. You expect for something to happen over night. If you are saying that you want to become a millionaire, then you can't expect to go outside and find a money tree in your yard. It's ridiculous, and it doesn't happen in real life. You have to develop a plan and work at it. For instance, I just read about how a woman "with NO business experience became a Super Affiliate earning $500,000+ per year selling other people's stuff online." Now, I have had my doubts about all of this stuff I see online but some of it has got to be true. Check it out for yourself. Click Here!

On the other hand, regardless of how much you believe in yourself, you will have discouraging moments. You will have areas in which you need to perfect but you cannot let that discourage you. Don't let anyone or anybody tell you that you cannot achieve greatness. Greatness is your destiny but that doesn't mean that you will arrive there in two seconds flat. Now, what kind of ride would that be? Wouldn't it be boring if that were true?

What is life really about? It's not an easy question, but I'm going to take a shot at it. Life is about challenging yourself to become better each and everyday. There is always going to be something that you can do better and some area of your character in which you can improve. When your eulogy is read, people will remember you for the way that your approached life. People will remember that you tried to be your best. It is such a great honor to live a life of purpose. Sadly enough, everyone will not reach their full potential, and they will die with a dream in their heart. They will never live the life of their dreams. With that reality in mind, what are you going to do? Are you going to let rejection and dream snatchers take your dream? You have a choice. You can view negative feedback as constructive criticism or take it as a blow to your ego. What is more important your ego, or your dream.

Treat your dream like your baby. When a baby is born, you are excited. Everyone congratulates you and wishs you well. After a while those people leave, and you are left alone to raise the child. Raising a baby takes patience, time and energy. You must be patient with yourself and your dream. It is vital that you use the time and energy developing your dream instead of beating yourself up because you had a discouraging moment. Those moments will come and go, but you can't let it stop you. The time you spent feeling sorry for yourself is much better used building yourself up. You have to believe in yourself when no one else does.

One Step Closer

Every day is a new day. If yesterday was a bad day, and today was okay then the chances are better that tomorrow will be great. The point is that you can never give up. There are seasons in life where windows and doors are open. Unfortunately, on the path to our destiny we will have a few road blocks, speed bumps, and detours. On the up side, we usually see a sign before our change comes. Therefore, it is our responsibility to consistently watch for the signs of life changes. If we let a bad day make us give up then we could miss the chance of a lifetime.

Honestly, being consistent has been one of my greatest struggles. I neglect to live each day like my last. Therefore, it takes me longer to get to where I want to be. What has held me back was my lack of faith. I think I believe in myself, and I know I believe in God. However, if I really believe then my actions would show it. If I really believe that nothing is impossible with God, then I would not limit my dream. I say this in the present tense because I am still working through it. However, I have realized and identified the problem, and I plan on utilizing my new revelation.

You can’t let the size of your dream intimidate you. It is a process to achieve greatness. Everything that is worth having is worth waiting for. Patience is truly a virtue and sometimes being patient with your self can be the most difficult thing to do. You must not have even one moment in which you doubt who you can become. Those moments become minutes, which turn into hours that turn into days that turn into years. Each day you are one step closer to your destiny.

The "Aha" Moment

Understanding is vital to reaching your destiny. If you are unable to understand what the steps are to reach your destiny then it is nearly impossible to make progress toward your goal. Clarity does wonders for a dreamer. If you have found yourself stagnant and you are unsure why, then it may because you lack understanding. You may need clarity of your vision for you to move to the next level on your road to success. You may be completely baffled if you are usually a self-motivated person and you have not been able to make any significant steps toward reaching your destiny.

For instance, I am typically a self-starter. I am a goal setter, tracker, and achiever. However, in this area of successful internet marketing, I have been struggling. I discovered today that I have not been making much progress because I am yet to understand the technical aspect of it. Today is the day that I had my "a ha" moment. For some reason I understand so much more than I did before but I can't describe how. Today it just clicked. All of the things that I had been learning along the way came together and I feel like I can move forward. In fact, I know that this is the time.

Until you have your "a ha" moment it may be difficult for you, but don't lose hope. Understanding in itself is a process, and it doesn't happen overnight. If you don't understand right away, it doesn't mean that you are a slow learner. It just means that at that point your dream is bigger than you. Eventually, you will grow into your dream and become a success. As you become a success be sure that you are grateful for the process and willing to share your "a ha" moment with others.

The Beginning of the Impossible

At the beginning of a dream it feels imposible. It feels like you could never be who you are destined to become. All you know is that you are here and the dream is way over there. There are so many steps to get there that it feels overwhelming. Usually the biggest dreams have this affect on people. However, even though these feelings are normal that doesn't make it any easier to overcome. The problem is that there are no real solutions to the problem because the answer is, "Just Do It."

This is where I am at right now. I can see myself doing so much, but I'm looking at a long road ahead of me. The first thing that I can do is tell myself what I would tell someone else. If I were counseling someone else I would tell them to see themself where they want to be. So let me take my own advice. I see myself coordinating and teaching at life changing seminars. I see myself publishing several books that help people in profound ways. I see myself on television interviewing people and conducting interviews. I see myself working with clients coaching them and leading them to their destiny. I see myself pouring out all of the determination that is in me into the life of someone else. I envision myself helping people with humble beginnings reach new heights.

The next question is where do I start. I can start by taking a step closer to my vision on each day. It is important to make constant progress because when I look back I'll be further than I was yesterday. Starting this blog is a step toward my destiny. Now, I just need to keep the faith and keep hope in my heart. I have to stay focused and determined. We all have to keep the vision in our mind and our heart. When a vision expands within your heart, it begins to manifest into a reality. Our mind is so powerful that we can be anything that our heart desires, but it does take time. It does take work, and patience. It takes self-motivation, but anything is possible with God. As long as you start on the path of your destiny with God, you will eventually arrive at your destiny and live a life of success and satisfaction.
